A Historical Perspective

Wasa Weekly Patthana Puja began as a devoted weekly recitation of the Patthana during Buddhist Lent. It reflects the long-standing tradition of preserving the Buddha’s deep Abhidhamma teachings within the monastic and lay communities.

Observed once every week during the three-month Buddhist Lent, the ceremony follows the Myanmar lunar calendar. These weekly gatherings strengthen faith and mindfulness in a rhythm of consistent devotion.

Participants wear simple, respectful attire such as traditional Myanmar dress or plain white clothing. This symbolizes purity, reverence, and unity among all who join in the sacred recitation.
