Awarding Process & Selection Criteria

Step-by-Step Process

Step 1: Examination Completion

Candidates must successfully complete the designated Abhidhamma examinations recognized by the Society. Both written tests and oral interviews are part of the assessment to ensure thorough understanding.

Step 2: Nomination & Recommendation

Eligible candidates are nominated by their teachers, mentors, or examination committees. Self-nominations are not accepted to maintain transparency and unbiased selection.

Step 3: Review & Evaluation

A panel of experienced Dhamma teachers and scholars evaluates candidates based on exam performance, dedication to Dhamma practice, community involvement, and moral integrity (Sīla).

Step 4: Final Selection & Endorsement

The final list of awardees is endorsed by the Abhidhamma Society’s honorary board. Selected individuals are officially informed and invited to receive their recognition at the Awarding Ceremony.

  • Active participation in Dhamma learning activities.
  • Strong recommendations from certified Dhamma mentors.
  • Consistent demonstration of ethical conduct (Sīla) and Dhamma practice.
